On Saturday, April 13, we had an amazing time at Future Fest at Denver’s Civic Center Park! Thanks so much to the City and County of Denver Government for hosting this wonderful event for YOUth. The event was well attended, with folks from other youth organizations, the city and county of Denver, and even Mayor Mike Johnston was there! We met so many folks, broadening our reach to create new partnerships with others who are dedicated to empowering youth in our community, engaging more future youth poets for our upcoming workshops.
During the performance showcase, our courageous youth poets Tylan (age 23) and Willow (age 18) performed poems that were written in three minutes in an Art from Ashes workshop. Huge thank you to our amazing staff, board, and volunteers for being there to cheer on our youth and represent Art from Ashes’ commitment to empowering youth in our community.
