DESCRIPTION:FOR ALL AGES\n[slideshow_deploy id=’15017′]\nJoin us every First Friday for youth spoken word performances! \nShow support for the young people who participate in our Phoenix Rising youth empowerment program. Listen as youth poets ages 12 to 24 tell their stories in metaphor through poems written in only 3 minutes. \nOn May 6th we hope to see you at one or more of several locations where we will be participating in activities and hosting performances (luckily\, they are all close to each other!)\nFrom 2 to 9pm\, our table will be set up at the Queer Art Showcase\, hosted by OUT FRONT Magazine and located at SKYLIGHT\, 833 Santa Fe Drive. Swing by and say hi while also shopping for local handmade goods (more info here)\nWe also will be at Strawberry Mountain\, an awesome up-cycled clothing store (conveniently right next door to SKYLIGHT) for a street performance featuring our youth poets\, slated to begin at 6:30pm.\nCelebrate community with Art from Ashes!\n \nJust before the public performance\, youth gather at our location at 5pm for a FREE one-hour Phoenix Rising writing and performance workshop\, featuring a local poet.
