Here’s the series of poems written by Lesly:
1.
Strangers
Happiness comes knocking at my door,
but there’s a stranger called Scared,
and she’s mocking me on the kitchen table.
Happiness makes her way in and past the stairs,
enters the bathroom.
Mrs. Scared hugs me,
I break down on my knees.
So Mr. Sickness jumps in and comes to my stomach. Happiness is still in the bathroom,
she has no idea what’s going on.
She comes out, and everyone acts normal,
but she sees me there, lying on the floor.
She holds me and never lets me go.
2.
Fear
Mr. Fear wears an old and scary mustache;
He always comes along with his wife Anxiety.
They are both old, but they are always making a riot inside.
They had a son, called little sadness,
wearing his little blue hat every day.
They got so comfortable, they don’t want to go away.
3.
Confidence
I would like to make amends with confidence
and its sister happiness.
We were best friends once, until
Mr. Fear and Mrs. Anxiety came along.
They were just like the sound of G major on a sunny day.
We would get along and take everyone in our way.
We were ambassadors of love,
But Mr. Fear took away that glow.
I don’t blame him at all,
’cause I was the one to let him in.
But I would love to tell confidence
to hang with me again.
