On June 10th, 2023, Art from Ashes staff and volunteers participated in the 9th annual Youth on Record Block Party right in the heart of the La Alma/Lincoln Park neighborhood (and right in front of our office)! The entire event was youth led and organized, complete with featured performance opportunities, live music, food and beverages, lots of smiles and more. Visitors to the AfA tent were invited to painted rocks, contribute to our community canvas, chalk up the sidewalk, connect, and learn about our programs. The block party was a huge success, and La Alma park’s free pool admission day ensured lots of visitors and interaction! With free snow cones, food trucks and goodie bags, the community was brought together in a memorable and valuable way, and we are already eager for next year!
