And for all you percussion lovers out there, we’ll also be hosting the Steel Pan Collective. After the youth poets perform, there will be steel pans set up for you to play!
The Steel Pan Collective’s mission is to build a connected community of steel pan musicians, educators, artisans and enthusiasts. We accomplish this by emphasizing our three core values: education, performance, and community outreach. 
Show support for the young people who participate in our Phoenix Rising youth empowerment program. Listen as youth poets ages 12 to 24 tell their stories in metaphor through poems written in only 3 minutes.
Just before the public performance, youth gather at 5pm for a FREE one-hour Phoenix Rising writing and performance workshop, featuring a local performance poet. All youth are welcome.
