Lady Speech had an abusive childhood and was homeless for the final time at 19. While living in a shelter, she discovered The Spot and learned about the power of words. Lady Speech is an activist, artist, spoken word performer, and was host of Café Nuba for four and a half years. She is a former youth participant and has been a guest poet with Art from Ashes since 2003.
